Gas Cryotherapy Chambers

Gas cryotherapy chambers, often known as nitrogen cryotherapy, use vaporised nitrogen to cool the chamber to temperatures between -130°F to -184°F. This method is renowned for its quick cooling times and effectiveness in reducing inflammation and pain. These chambers are significantly cheaper to buy compared with electric alternatives, however the operational costs are a lot more due to gases such as nitrogen being very expensive. The other consideration is from an enviromental aspect, as the waste gases are harmful to the environment and due to goverment restrictions it's becoming increasingly difficult to source gas suppliers within the UK. As a result, we only offer one whole body cryotherapy chamber which uses gas, the rest are all 100% electrically powered.

Electric Cryotherapy Chambers

Electric cryotherapy chambers represent the next generation in cryotherapy technology. By using electric power to cool the air, these chambers offer a more uniform temperature distribution, providing a different experience from their gas counterparts. They come with a higher initial investment cost, but operate using a standard mains electricity plug and socket. This results in running costs that are a fraction of the gas chambers. When deciding between gas and electric cryotherapy chambers, consider your specific needs and preferences. Gas chambers might be your choice for targeted treatments and faster sessions, while electric chambers offer a safer, more consistent experience.

Whole Body Cryotherapy

Whole body cryotherapy is a therapeutic technique that involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures for a short duration, typically between two to four minutes. This exposure is achieved in a specialised chamber where temperatures drop to between -110°C and -140°C. The extreme cold stimulates the body's natural healing mechanisms, prompting vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation, which enhances blood circulation. This process helps to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate muscle recovery. Additionally cryotherapy can boost the immune system, increase energy levels, and improve overall well-being. It has become popular among athletes for recovery, as well as individuals seeking various health benefits such as muscle/pain relief.

Localised Cryotherapy

Localised cryotherapy targets specific areas of the body with extremely cold temperatures, rather than exposing the entire body to cold conditions as in whole body cryotherapy. This method uses devices that direct cold air or liquid nitrogen to treat localized areas, such as a sore knee, an inflamed tendon, or a specific muscle group, for a few minutes at a time. The intense cold reduces blood flow to the area, which can decrease inflammation and swelling, numb nerve pain, and accelerate the healing process. Localised cryotherapy is particularly beneficial for athletes with specific injuries or individuals with targeted pain or swelling, offering a quick and effective way to manage and alleviate localised discomfort and enhance recovery.
